The Collier Spay Neuter Clinic (CSNC) has created a spay/neuter campaign called “Stop Littering.” The program is funded by a Florida Animal Friend, Inc. grant. Florida Animal Friend awarded CSNC a $25,000 grant to spay and neuter free roaming, stray and feral cats to address cat overpopulation. CSNC’s “Stop Littering” Program will fix feral or free roaming cats, absolutely free, and includes ear mite treatment as well as deworming medication and a three-year rabies vaccine.

Florida Animal Friend, Inc. grants are funded by sales of the Official Florida Animal Friend Spay and Neuter License Plate. CSNC’s goal is to use the $25,000 grant to fix a total of 625 free roaming and/or feral cats in Southwest Florida. Once spayed and neutered, property owners will need to re-release the cats onto their property as part of this lawful Trap-Neuter-Release program.
The “Stop Littering” program is offering free spay/neuter service for the following zip codes: 34112, 34116, 34117, 34120 and all zip codes in Immokalee. CSNC has traps available to the public for loan to assist

Diaz said getting a handle on the stray cat population maybe “the” solution for Southwest Florida since local and national estimates report Collier County alone is home to more than 75,000 feral cats living and reproducing by overwhelming numbers.
“A fact unknown to many is that cats are hard wired to breed and, in Florida, they can have three or four litters each year. Spaying and neutering these cats empowers public animal shelters to focus on adoption and creates space for owned cats that need homes right now,” explained Diaz.
CSNC’s mission is to provide targeted, high quality, high volume and affordable spay neuter services. For more information, visit www.collierspayneuter.org. Call the Collier Spay Neuter Clinic at (239) 514-7647 to schedule a spay/neuter today.
