A favorite among locals and visitors, the Farmers Market earned high marks on Trip Advisor, where it was named number 17 of “things to do” in Marco Island.
But anyone who has visited the bustling market knows firsthand how special it is.
Coastal Breeze News spoke with Samantha Malloy, Manager of Parks, Culture & Recreation for the City of Marco Island. Samantha echoes our enthusiasm, and says, “It’s an exciting time and we are looking forward to being back!”
Shoppers rely on the market to find everything from farm-fresh produce to unique products and crafts. Regulars are known to stock up weekly on fresh herbs, vine-ripe tomatoes, local honey, homemade jams, baked bread and more. Giftseekers can find one-of-a-kind artwork, jewelry and other handmade items.
Keeping the market exciting is done through the addition of new and different vendors each season. This year there will be some new products to look out for. Samantha tells us, “We have a handful of new vendors this year, ranging from original artwork and sea glass jewelry, to fresh squeezed juice, healthy snacks, mushrooms, and some delicious additions to our food court. We are pleased to welcome more of our local vendors to the market!”
The Marco Island Farmers Market returns on November 15, and will run every Wednesday from 7:30 AM to 1 PM through April. The Farmers Market is located at 901 Park Avenue, in Veterans Community Park.
