Many big changes are coming to the Marco Island American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life event, which will take place on April 1, 2017 at Veterans Community Park.
In addition to the change of location, the 2017 Marco Island Relay For Life has a new format, and hours reduced to 4-10 PM. The Luminaria Ceremony will take place at 9 PM. There will be a survivor dinner event, which will be held at the New Life Church.
The 2017 Relay theme is “Barbeque for Relay.” This event is being organized as a community wide, fun-filled day for all ages.
The new format includes the sale of $1 tickets, which will be sold at the entrance. Attendees will receive a map of the food locations at the park. There will be multiple tents selling a variety of delicious food items, which will be arranged by category (Meats, drinks, desserts, sides, etc.). People will have fun trying all the different culinary treats that the Relay For Life teams prepare.
Also plan on seeing more children’s activities at the upcoming Relay. Each Relay For Life team will be sponsoring their own game or activity at their tent. There will be face painting, mini massages, hair braiding, and more. The entire community is welcome, people are encouraged to bring the whole family.
On thing will not change at Marco Island’s Relay For Life; the event still aims at raising cancer awareness while fundraising for a cure.
