The Family Ministries of Florida provide quality homes and an educational environment grounded in Christian principles, for children 6-18 years old who require alternatives to living with their parents or guardians. The organization, a 501(c) 3, offers guidance and referrals.
Frank LaFerrara, a Marco Island resident and a volunteer for the organization, asks the community to donate either used DVDs or new DVDs that are G or PG rated and that children would enjoy watching. Each week, Frank goes to the post office located at Keep in Touch Cards, Gifts & More to mail the DVDs out.

Mike says, “This time of year is about doing what you can for others, especially children! We’re happy to help put a few smiles on their faces with movies that can take their mind off of problems.”
Keep in Touch has a box set up to collect the donated DVDs, not just at the Christmas Walk event, but throughout the months of November and December. Keep in Touch is at the Shops of Marco, 135 S. Barfield, 239-393-6300.
