Learn to Be A Diver! The 15,000 gallon Be A Diver pool travels around North America, introducing people to scuba diving. It will be making stops at the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve’s Environmental Learning Center, Naples, FL, Thursday, April 28, through Saturday, April 30, 9:00am – 4:00pm. In conjunction with the Rookery Bay Reserve, the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) and with the help of local certified scuba diving instructors participants will have a chance to experience what it’s like to breathe underwater in the Be A Diver pool.

Dive Into Oceans Day introduces young people to various marine industry careers available in the Southwest Florida area. Students from local schools are scheduled to participate April 28-29 and the event will be open to the public on Saturday, April 30. Admission is $5 adults and $3 kids (ages 6-12).
A dip in the Be A Diver Pool is FREE with admission to the center. Every year thousands of folks attend Be A Diver pool shows and try out the sport of scuba diving in the huge 4 feet deep, 20 x 40 foot, 15,000 gallon heated scuba pool. It provides great visuals and TV stations are invited to put reporters/anchors and/or their children over 10 into the pool for a fun and unique segment. All equipment and instruction from local certified diving instructors will be provided, as will towels, mirrors and hair dryers.
Families, couples and people of every age have tried the Be A Diver pool and experienced the safe and exhilarating sport of scuba diving firsthand.
