Collier County Museum: June 10
Spanish ships have been navigating Florida’s waters for more than 500 years. This talk will highlight the evidence underwater archaeologists have uncovered over the years about failed colonies, far-ranging trade networks, and doomed plate fleets. Visitors can see the evidence and learn about these unique Florida resources. The program was organized by Melissa Timo at the Florida Public Archaeology Network and begins at 2 p.m. Admission is open to the public at no cost and reservations are suggested.
