For boaters who either keep their vessels at Walker’s Hideaway Marina or rent a boat for the day at the marina’s location at 705 East Elkcam Circle they won’t have to worry about packing a lunch anymore for their day on the water.
Patty and Brian Quinn, natives of New England and no strangers to the food service industry have opened PBQs at the popular marina to service boaters and hungry visitors alike. They will be open Monday to Saturday from 8 AM to 5 PM.
They had owned two delicatessens in Danbury, Connecticut prior to moving to Marco in 1996 and couldn’t resist the allure of getting back into the business. Both are graduates of Delhi Agricultural and Technical College for Restaurant and Hotel Management in Delhi, New York.
Both Patty and Brian grew up in North Salem, New York and were high school sweethearts who went on to be very successful entrepreneurs in the food service business. They hope to duplicate their success with theirsmall operation at Walker’s Marina.
Besides a quality lunch they will also be serving a limited menu breakfast from 8-11 AM, in addition to the Thumann Cold Cut Deli Sandwiches, which were a specialty of theirs in Danbury and the New York area.
Their house specialty however is an offering of smoked BBQ ribs, beef brisket, pulled pork and chicken wings which they cook fresh on their outdoor smoker right on the property. Their famous “Smoked Wings” also won the Danbury “Wing Ding Contest,” as it became a staple of their menu at their BBQ store.
Now if you have a taste for corned beef they have that too, in addition to a number of salads with your favorite dressings.
All of this can be packaged for you to take it on the boat, take it home or sit at one of the tables they have inside.
