16th Annual House, Business and Condo Decorating Contest Schedule Announced
The Christmas House and Business Decorating Committee met recently at Sanita Sole, hosted by Paula and Richard Robinson for final preparations for the 16th Annual Decorating Contest. In 2011, the contest included over 1700 homes and 125 businesses judged.
The contest is an independent Florida Corporation operated by members of the committee, funded and supported financially by sponsors and committee members.
Contest Dates are throughout the week of December 10 – 14, 6:30 PM -10PM
Home, Business and Condo decorations are judged nightly during the week from 6:30PM -10 PM.
Final Judging – Friday, December 14, 6:30 -10:30 PM
The Final 10 homes are judged by the entire membership of the House Decorating Committee riding on a Trolley.
The business and condo winners are presented their awards this evening as well.
Contest Prizes: The night of the Finals, the top ten (10) receive a Finalist Plaque presented by the judging team from that area. The winner of the House Contest receives a check for $250.00. The House Winner and the Business Winner receives the traditional Yard Sign and a Winners Plaque and the Condo winner a plaque. The event is sponsored by LCEC, and Centennial Bank.
Community Viewing: The addresses of the finalists and a mention of others “worth viewing” will be provided to the local media so “Christmas Revelers” may drive around Marco and view the wonderful decorations throughout the season.

Previous winners must wait 5 years before being eligible for winning again.
Decorations must remain lighted for the entire contest week.
Only exterior decorations are eligible for judging.
