In the April 20 – May 3 edition, Volume III, Issue 8, Coastal Breeze noted that there is free beach parking located at Marriott’s Crystal Shores. Unfortunately, this information is incorrect. Parking is available ONLY for guests staying at the resort and there are limited designated parking spaces to the Stilts Restaurant, which overlooks the beach and provides the perfect environment to enjoy nightly sunset dining. Free beach parking or pay-to-park has never been available at Crystal Shores. Coastal Breeze apologizes for any inconveniences this may have caused.
Those who would like to visit Marco’s beautiful beaches do have a number of other options. Parking is available for the South Beach pedestrian access point on South Collier Boulevard at the Collier County parking lot on Swallow Avenue. You can pay by the day or purchase an annual parking pass at the public library. Tigertail beach, located at the end of Hernando Drive, also has pay-to-park or park-with-pass availability.
There is also free pedestrian access located between the Madeira (350 S. Collier Blvd.) and The Royal Seafarer Condominium (300 S. Collier Blvd.).
Residents’ Beach passes are available to purchase for those who own property on Marco Island or are visiting for one month or more, through Marco Island Civic Association.
