Collier County Commissioner Penny Taylor, who had previously voted in opposition to mandating the wearing of masks within unincorporated Collier would call for a reconsideration of her vote. That decision resulted an emergency meeting of the Commission on Tuesday.
The City of Naples and Marco Island do not fall under the requirement that passed by a 3-2 vote. Commissioners Taylor, Chairman Sanders and Solis would vote in favor, while Commissioners Fiala and McDaniel would oppose. That requirement will sunset on September 3, unless extended by the Commission.
