I-75: Recreational access area on Alligator Alley: Construction project  Crews are building a recreational access facility that includes a boat ramp and parking lot with fencing and lighting. Work involves widening and resurfacing the facility’s roadway, making drainage improvements, and adding intelligent transportation system components and a high-tension cable barrier system on I-75 in this area. Crews will have daily lane closures from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on northbound I-75 in the vicinity of mile marker 52, weather permitting. Work includes widening as well as milling and resurfacing the mainline. This will affect the northbound lanes only which will have one lane open and one lane closed during the operations. These dates are all dependant on the weather prior to the closure and during the activities. The job is estimated for completion by summer 2012. The contractor is Convalvias USA.

I-75: At the SR 951 interchange: Construction project — Crews are making improvements to interchange ramps, adding new mast arm signals, and placing new pavement markings and signs. Activities involve placement of base material at northbound and southbound off ramps. Work also includes working on the northbound on ramp and curb and sidewalk placement at the southbound off ramp and northbound on ramp. Crews will also be working on signalization mast arms at all ramps. The traveling public should only expect minor delays as construction equipment is delivered to, and moved about the jobsite. Completion is expected in fall 2012. The contractor is APAC Southeast.

US 41: Mooring Line Drive to Golden Gate Parkway: Maintenance permit project – Crews will be removing an existing driveway and replacing it with curb and gutter from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Wednesday, September 5, weather permitting. Work will also include constructing a new driveway at a different location within the project limits. Lane closures are expected at this time. Motorists should be aware of construction activities along the roadway.

SR 84/Davis Boulevard: From west of Radio Road to Santa Barbara Boulevard: Construction project — Crews are expanding the road to six lanes, adding sidewalk, bike lanes, and street lights, and building a noise wall. Work crews continue placing temporary asphalt along both the eastbound and westbound sides of the roadway between Santa Barbara Boulevard to east of Firano Drive and Wildwood Lakes Boulevard. This work is creating temporary traffic lanes to allow for a traffic shift while the new roadway is constructed. There will be intermittent lane closures during these activities. This work is anticipated to take approximately two weeks, weather permitting. Motorists are advised to use caution and watch for workers in the construction zone. Project completion is estimated by end of 2013, weather permitting. The contractor is Guymann Construction.

 SR 29: From north of Oil Well Road to south of County Road 846 in Immokalee (approximately eight miles): Construction project – This project resurfaces the roadway and includes sidewalk, shoulder, and guardrail work and traffic signal improvements at Farm Workers Village. Crews are mowing the shoulders and performing general clean-up in preparation for final pavement markings. Work is planned daytime, Tuesday through Friday, weather permitting. Lane closures are necessary and motorists should expect delays. All travel lanes will remain open from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Motorists are advised to look out for pedestrians and bicyclists, obey flagging operations, observe posted speed limits, and drive with caution in the construction zone. Completion is estimated for fall 2012. The contractor is C.W. Roberts Contracting, Inc.

12th Street; From 13th Avenue north to 14th Avenue north: Construction project — The improvements under this contract consist of sidewalk construction and drainage improvements. Work is underway from the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Weather permitting; these activities are anticipated to last approximately one month. Motorists should expect possible lane closures. Motorists are also advised to use caution and watch for construction workers in the construction zone. The Contractor is Midwestern Construction, Inc.
