Coastal Breeze News Earns Top Award


Coastal Breeze News is proud to announce that we have been awarded First Place for General Excellence in the Association of Free Community Publications’ Best of the Best Awards. Four additional awards were earned, including Second Place, Best Editorial Photography – Feature Article on Newsprint for Frank Steiger’s photographs in “Eagle Cam Live at Marco Island Nature Preserve” (September 13, 2018); Second Place, Best Feature Article Layout – Newspaper Format to graphic designer Sue Donolo for “Spectacular Autumn Colors of Pepper Ranch Preserve” (October 12, 2018);  Second Place for Best In-Paper Special Section “Meet the Marco Island City Candidates” (October 12, 2018); and Third Place Best Original Writing- Column to Inform for Bob McConville’s “Is the Gulf of Mexico Dying?” (April 26, 2018).

As Coastal Breeze News approaches our tenth anniversary, it has never been more apparent that our development is a result of a dedicated team effort. Yet Coastal Breeze’s success comes from much more than just us. The wonderful communities that we serve help us to create this newspaper that we can all be proud of.
