Clean-up is a Community Effort

On Sunday, October 8, Cocomo’s Grill and Stan’s Idle Hour teamed up to provide grilled hotdogs, hamburgers, beer and soft drinks to the crowd coming down to donate or pick up clean-up supplies, as Goodland continues to dig out. Jim Allen and Ben Olson provided the music and the Marco Island Fire Rescue Department brought down their extension ladder with a flag unfurled from the top.

This is only the latest example of Marco merchants bringing hot meals down to Goodland during this crisis. They have been doing so continuously since Irma ripped through here. Steve Gober announced that Stan’s will reopen on Friday, October 27.
