Proclamations by the City of Marco Island were presented by Council Chair Rob Popoff to:
– The Marco Island Area Associations of Realtors recognizing the week of April 10th as an island-wide Open House week as part of a statewide awareness campaign.
–The Greater Marco Island Area YMCA received a Proclamation from the City of Marco Island for making the community a better place to live, work and play.
–The Marco Island Historical Society for their dedication in raising $4.4 million Chairman Popoff with Vice Chair Recker. Photos by Val Simon
–The Foreclosure Taskforce for countless hours of pro bono work to assist those facing foreclosure or to help them stay in their homes.
Chairman Popoff then presented a “Key to the City” to the following:
–Terri Disciullo for work benefitting the Marco Island community such as her work on the blue ribbon committee, Mothers of Marco, Mackle Park Master Plan, TBE’s Author and Artists’ Night, for service on the city council and the finance audit committee.
–Craig Woodward for educating residents and visitors on the history of Marco Island, as President

City Manager Steve Thompson and Council Chair Popoff present commendation to Councilman Ted Forcht.
–Donna (Popoff) Owens for teaching Chairman Popoff patience and empathy.
City Manager Steve Thompson, along with Chair Popoff bestowed a proclamation and plaque to outgoing councilman Ted Forcht for his years of service to Marco Island. The City Manager was then assisted by Vice Chair Frank Recker to present similar honors to outgoing Council Chair Popoff for his dedication to the citizens of Marco Island.
