City Announces Beautification Advisory Committee Opening

Are you interested in becoming a Member of the Marco Island’s Beautification Advisory Committee (BAC)? An opening on the BAC recently became available, and the City is actively seeking a volunteer to fill it. To apply for the BAC opening, see Laura Litzen, City Clerk, at City Hall.

BAC meetings generally take place on the 1st Wednesday of the month at 3pm at City Hall. The public is welcome to attend BAC meetings.

The BAC is a “working” committee. This means that every Member is expected to attend and participate in monthly meetings and occasional workshops (unless excused for a good reason), to attend Arbor Day celebrations, to speak before City Council and represent BAC issues, to observe and report on the condition of City landscaping and furnishings such as benches, street signs and lighting; and to take on special assignments as requested by the Chair or identified by the Committee, including researching and preparing reports for use by the Committee. New Members also attend a BAC orientation meeting, at which history and duties are addressed and questions are answered.
