House Decorating Contest Winner Announced

The Marco Island House and Business Decorating Contest finals were held on Friday, December 15. The judging committee had the difficult task of evaluating the Top 10 homes, but they reached a decision.

The 2017 House Decorating Contest winner was Maria Schilke, who decorated her brightly lit house at 865 Swan with neon candy canes, stars and a train.

If you take a drive around the island, keep your eyes open for the following decorating masterpieces:

The business winner will be announced Saturday, December 16. The business judging team consists of Kristina Lambros and Marc Creach.

Committee Chairman Dave Rice states, “On behalf of the committee, a sincere thank you for all who enjoy the opportunity of ‘Lighting up Marco’ and making everyone’s Christmas and holiday season special. Spending an evening viewing lighted properties is great family entertainment during the holiday season.”
