Get ready to enjoy some prize-winning chili when the Jerry Adams Chili Cook-off returns to CJ’s on the Bay on Saturday, October 20th from 12-4 PM.
For the sixth year, the Marco Island Fire Rescue Foundation is hosting this event in memory of the late Jerry Adams, a 23-year veteran Marco Island firefighter who lost his battle with cancer in 2012. Jerry was known for making incredible chili, and this event is a fitting way to honor and remember him.
The event draws talented chili chefs from neighboring fire rescue departments, local restaurants, businesses, service organizations and individuals.
CJ’s will provide a selection of delectable side dishes to compliment the chili along with happy hour drink specials. The popular Ben Allen Band will provide musical entertainment.
People’s Choice Awards will be given, as well as an Overall Best Chili award based on a blind tasting by a panel of culinary professionals.
Major sponsors include Condee Cooling and Electric; Darcie Guerin, Raymond James and Associates; Imperial Marine; Mutual of Omaha; Physicians Regional Healthcare System; Siegel Dental; Walker’s Hideaway Marina; Megan A. Welker, DDS; and Bill and Karen Young.
Admission to the event is $12, with children under 10 free.
Event proceeds will benefit the Marco Island Fire Rescue Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization that supports your fire-rescue personnel during personal hardships, and helps to provide educational scholarships.
