During these unprecedented times, the Rotary Club of Marco Island Noontime remains undeterred. Through Club meetings and important events such as the recent installation of Board Officers and Directors via Zoom, the Rotary Noontime Club carries on its traditions despite the impacts of COVID-19. 

Recently, 2020 Outgoing Rotary District 6960 Governor, Rich Kirschner, administered the oath of office to the newly elected Board Officers and Directors of the Noontime Rotary Club at the Club’s Zoom meeting. The incoming Board Officers include: President Linda Sandlin, President-Elect Cindy Love Abounader, President Nominee Jim Richards, Past President Durell Buzzini, Secretary Sue Haviland, Treasurers Gene D’Onofrio and Lynne Minozzi and Sergeant at Arms Phillip Penzo. 

The newly installed Club Directors are George Abounader, Prem Advani, Tom Menaker, Mike Richards, Pat Rutledge, Ron Rutledge Jill Sandberg, Gwyn Steiner and Jim Stine. 

Outgoing PresidentDurell Buzzini, received the member’s heartfelt thanks for her leadership and her enthusiasm during challenging times. Durell shared some of the impressive accomplishments of the Noontime Club this year including providing financial relief to the victims of Hurricane Dorian, Scholarship Grants to graduating seniors, COVID-19 Financial Support to Our Daily Bread and the South Collier YMCA and a Club membership explosion of six new members this Rotary year. 

Incoming President, Linda Sandlin, introduced the Club members to the new Rotary International theme for the 2020-2021 Rotary Year, Rotary Opens Opportunities.  

“Rotary brings together a global network of over 1.2 million volunteers dedicated to tackling the world’s most pressing humanitarian challenges,” stated Linda. “My vision is for every member of our Club to experience the joy and satisfaction of being an active member… so that we can all share the pride of making a difference in our community and in the world and all share the fun and fellowship of changing people’s lives together.”
