Hard work and determination paid off handsomely for five Lely High School graduates. The students will face the challenges of their continuing education with the benefit of Chamber of Commerce scholarships of $3000.00 each.

Members of the Education Committee considered the academic achievements of all the applications submitted and then interviewed the finalists in order to make their final selection. The students, and their parents, were honored at a Chamber event held at CJ’s on the Bay, which provided a Texas style barbecue buffet for guests.

Executive Director of the Chamber, Sandi Reidemann, explained to the scholarship recipients how many people and numerous businesses came together to provide funding for the scholarship awards. The Education Committee and Leadership Marco held a successful ‘Souper Bowl Marco’ event financing the monetary awards.

Congratulations to the recipients:

Alessea Lane will attend the University of Florida majoring in Chemical Engineering

Jennifer Schoen will go to the University of Florida, for pre-law, journalism and Business
