The Marco Island Center for the Arts held its Third Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday October 31, 2015 at Hammock Bay Golf and Country Club. With a shotgun start at 8:30 AM, the players swung away, with many successfully hitting balls from tee to fairway and even from fairway to green. Getting the ball in the hole proved a challenge for many, but everyone enjoyed a hearty lunch and a few good laughs at what proved to be a perfect day for golf. The tournament included 112 golfers playing for the education programsof Marco Island Center for the Arts, with a few playing to “win.”
Tournament organizers had rounded up 45 fabulous raffle items, for which raffle tickets were drawn. A live auction included a 2014 U.S. Open pin flag signed by Jason Day, Natalie Gulbis, Peter Jacobsen, Nancy Lopez, Johnny Miller, Mark O’Meara and Annika Sorenstam. Two hole-in-ones were sponsored by Mercedes-Benz of Naples and Dodge Chrysler Jeep, and to their great relief nobody took home a new car. The event was sponsored by Collier Seawall and Dock, LLC and Sparkle Carpet Cleaning.
The tournament usedthe best ball format. At the conclusion of play, best ball winners included:
First Place: John Dougherty, Justin Hanna, Jessica Paulmann and Jamey Nassef.
