The Holiday Open House at Marco Island Florist Home and Gifts almost made me think that I had double vision. And I hadn’t even dipped into the fine offerings of mimosas and chocolates! It turns out that my eyesight was fine. I was just blessed with the good fortune of having the opportunity to meet identical twins Andrea Harb and Brenda Them. The sisters are frequent shoppers at this beautiful store located at 178 S. Barfield Drive on Marco Island. All year long, they look forward to the annual event. As Brenda says, “It’s our way to catch the holiday spirit!”

The shop is well known for its floral design, home decor, gifts, fresh flowers and live plants, but did you know that it is also the place to go on Marco Island for your finest and most unique holiday decorating needs? The well-attended Open House showcased this fact in all its joyous splendor. Decorated trees sparkled with the festivity of the season. Whether you are looking for the traditional theme of the holidays or just want a coastal breeze to sweep you into the paradise of holidays on the Gulf, Marco Island Florist has it all!

I felt a personal connection to a whimsical sunglass-clad, Buddha-bellied mermaid statuette that is sipping a cocktail beneath a tree adorned with pink flamingoes. Add a box of Norman Love chocolates, always available at Marco Island Florist, and you just might envision yourself in such a decadent pose, celebrating life everyday…every way!

My spiritual side was blessed with clarity and light from an exquisite crystal nativity scene. The crèche is extraordinary in its simple ice sculpture-like design that literally glistens with faith.

Perhaps the real reason for the season is best summed up in a decorative plate engraved with the words “Let’s enjoy the lives that we live and always remember it’s good to give.”

There are so many items of beauty available at Marco Island Florist for all your holiday decorating and gift ideas. If you missed the Holiday Open House, please don’t fret, as the store is known for its many fun events. Wine Wednesday is held on the last Wednesday of each month, featuring food and wine samplings along with in-store specials. Be sure to stop by Marco Island Florist Home and Gifts, visit www.marcoislandflorist.com or call 239-394-8141.
