The planning for the Kiwanis Car Show is moving along nicely. It is expected over 125 cars will take part in the show with trophy’s being awarded in 17 categories. The Marco Island Cheerleaders have asked to appear and will be presenting a special Kiwanis Cheer. A representative from the Healthcare Center will be present distributing health literature and checking blood pressure for those interested.
The Kiwanis Club will have hamburgers, hotdogs and soda available for purchase. Costco will be on site selling water and donating the proceeds to the Kiwanis Club for children’s programs. The $6 table promises to be better than ever with many new items for the ladies. This is the third year for this vendor and it gets better each year.
We will have a contingent from the Golden Gate High School Lacrosse team helping with vehicle parking and other duties. The Irish Dancers and the Charter Middle School Band will be performing.
Representatives from the Collier County Freedom memorial will be onsite to inform the public on the progress of the memorial as well as to request donations to buy a “brick’ to honor those who have given their life for this country. A piece of steel from the World Trade Center will be on display.
