The show is scheduled for March 5, 2019 but event organizers are lining up talent now.
The Rotary Club of Marco Island Sunrise announced today it is accepting applications to participate in “Marco’s Got Talent.” The show is scheduled for March 5, 2019 but event organizers are lining up talent now. The group has much to do before the exciting event which will showcase some of Marco’s most entertaining performance. It will be an evening to remember.
“Marco’s Got Talent, presented by the Law Offices of William G. Morris, P.A., will be a premiere event” according to Debra Shanahan and Wanda Burson who are spearheading the group’s evening. The top performance will receive a cash prize, but first the performer has to submit an application to perform. The initial applications will be reviewed by the event committee and the committee will select the best in a variety of talents and skills. All performers will be evaluated and provide entertainment for attendees the night of the event.
Event organizers are hoping for a wide range of performers. Deb Shanahan explained, “We expect some really great talent, from school age through the most mature. The closet opera singer and living room dancer will both have an opportunity to shine along with many others.” Wanda Burson added, “We saw some pretty good dancing with Marco’s Dancing With the Stars a few years ago and we have been thinking about expanding the program ever since. This should be a great event.”
Marco’s radio station 98.1 FM is supporting the event with commercial packages for sponsors. Sponsorship packages are still available and information on sponsorship packages may be obtained by request at email@example.com.
The evening will include a sterling panel of judges, who will also add to the fun of the event. The judge panel will include Fire Chief Mike Murphy, owner of Duke’s Appliances Joseph Billi, and the executive director of the Marco Island Center for the Arts, Hyla Crane. Tickets are not on sale yet, but event organizers anticipate the evening will sell out quickly. There is no fee or charge for performers. Event organizers will close performer registration when available openings are filed. Anyone interested should submit their application soon.
Casting call is now open. Anyone interested in participating in Marco’s first island-wide talent show will need to provide a description of their act and a video for review by the organizers. Registration forms may be obtained from www.marcoislandsunriserotary.org or by request to firstname.lastname@example.org or P.O. Box 1427, Marco Island, Florida 34146.
