Capt. Don has had a busy year with his works being displayed at the Von Libig Museum of the Arts, in Naples, in October through December, and now two of his prized works, “At the Bar” and “Birds in the Mist” are on display at Iberia Bank on Bald Eagle and Elkam circle on Marco Island.
Capt . Don’s limitededition, photographic journal “Reflections of the Everglades” is almost Sold out. Don hopes to have a second book out by late 2013. It takes a great deal of time to take, compile and publish just the “right” photographs for a book. The Captain promises that whether you purchase one of the current limited edition books or his new one out in 2013 that they will have something for everyone. Lately he has been selling them to Teachers and grandparents to help our children know what the Everglades are all about before it is too late to enjoy these wonders of nature.
The Capt. tells us that with all the pythons in the Everglades they are depleting the small as well as some of the large wildlife that helps make the chain of life continue. Recently it was reported that there are fewer, rabbits, raccoons, deer, bobcats and small birds in certain areas of the Glades due to the fact that the Pythons are eating everything in their paths. It is a real problem and don hopes it will be controlled soon rather than before they do too much damage that the wildlife will never return.
All in all Capt. Don try’s to capture the beauty and realism of the Everglades and other photographic areas around Florida, Naples as well as the world.
