The land did not sell fast on the Isles of Capri in the 1950’s. Doc was not discouraged. One person said he looked across from Marco Island and wondered who in their right mind would want to build on a sand island? But build they did.
Another person told Rosanna that the closer she got to her prospective lot the “lower her spirits sank, being in genuine despair.” It was Doc’s enthusiasm and optimism that brought her around. He extolled the promise of things to come. Doc Loach was in love with the land. This couple bought on the same day that they viewed the land. Rosanna wrote the following comments on the visit.

We both signed those papers in a state of shock-mine from dread (will I ever have to live in this isolation?) my husband’s from elation-he found Utopia.” “We are still living in Utopia.” This was written in the 1980’s. Does anyone know who this couple was?

As you leave for the north,

Resident sticker is needed to get back on the island after a storm. Free ones are available at Christopher Realty.
Spring Bocce is in full force. With six teams finding new players to fill their roster as members leave for their respective homes up north. The games are played for fun at 9 AM, Monday through Wednesday. It is good practice and the court is well used.
