If you have any trouble reading normal print these days, we have a suggestion for you after you see your eye doctor: call Carolyn McMahon at 239-774-9393. She’s the president of CCAB (Collier County Association of the Blind) and we also serve the visually handicapped. CCAB (nicknamed See-CAB) is a social organization which meets twice monthly at the Golden Gate Community Center and the programs are fascinating.
There’s bowling once a month, luncheons from time to time, holiday dinners in season, a late spring picnic and wonderful speakers.
In addition we are in the process of sponsoring a special bingo in September for patrons who reside in assisted living facilities and other citizens of Collier County. Plans for this event are being finalized, and you might want to join in now. It will be a one-day game with cash and other prizes.
CCAB has been in existence for several years, and we are hoping to find new members. Age is no problem…we welcome people of all ages. CCAB also specializes in scholarships from time to time.
Call Carolyn if you have questions about CCAB and join us in the fall for a lot of fun as well as educational programs.
