Artists are invited to submit their work for display and sale during the third annual Storytellers Creative Arts Conference, scheduled for Nov. 2 and 3 in Naples. The conference, designed to inspire creativity in art, music, performance, film, writing and media, attracts participants from throughout Florida. The conference will motivate participants to use their creativity to tell the story of the Gospel.
Artists can submit photos of their work, including paintings, drawings, sculpture, jewelry, pottery and other visual arts, online atwww.create210.com by Sept. 29. The entry fee is $25 for up to three pieces. A committee, led by curator Cheri Dunnigan, will review submissions and select pieces for exhibition and sale, based on the theme “Reflections of His Glory” and Romans 1:20.
“The conference vision is to support emerging artists,” said event organizer Bill Barnett. “This event provides an entry point for young artists to present their best work in a curated and prestigious public setting and also provides a dynamic venue for experienced artists.”
Artwork will be exhibited during the Art Expo Friday, Nov. 2 beginning at 3 p.m. The weekend conference includes the Friday Evening of Worship and Arts; keynote speakers, breakout sessions, a forum and other activities Saturday; and small group sessions that will offer an atmosphere of creative expression through art journaling, music, dance and the spoken word. A pre-conference kick-off party, an evening of talent, food, film and networking, is planned for Thursday, Nov. 1, at 6:30 p.m. at the Community Center at Pelican Bay.
The conference site is Covenant Church of Naples near Pelican Bay. Early Registration is $79 per person; group and student discounts are available.
