Eight years ago, Victor Meza worked as a painter for a large painting company. He saw going into his own business as a goal he was ready to take on and so he began, Commex Painting. Victor already knew the bidding process, the hiring (and sometimes firing) workers, job requirements, materials specifications, and more.

Victor saw an opportunity to run a job the way he wanted to run it with Commex. It gave him a fresh new outlook, sort of like a fresh new coat of paint on the buildings. Running your own business has many challenges, but with help from

his brother Oscar, Victor took on bigger and bigger jobs. You must have specialized equipment for many of the bigger commercial jobs. Adding new and bigger equipment as he could, Victor grew the company and the types of jobs he could take on. In fact, Commex takes on the biggest and tallest buildings and the most extensive commercial jobs in the area.

“We have the equipment to take on the large jobs as well as the smaller jobs,” Victor commented. As seen in the photos, Victor was working on the Esplanade. “With our team of painters, each of the buildings is being worked at the same

time. If only the weather was cooperating more.” Victor worked hard to make sure each store or restaurant had minimal interference, but rain interrupted the process.

Victor has a son, Victor Meza, Jr. “My son attends Lely High School. When he’s done with school in the afternoon, he helps out at the job site and runs errands.” You can find Commex equipment on sites all over the area. To name just few jobs Commex has completed: the Gulfview and the South Seas condominiums, Summit House condominium, Progressive Auto and now the Esplanade. If you can’t easily see Victor or the Commex equipment, just look up.

You can contact Commex Painting at 253-2843.
