On January 15th, John Paalman from the board of directors of Habitat for Humanity of Collier County, spoke and presented two plaques in recognition of the two houses built by Marco Lutheran Church in 2008 and 2009. One was for the Fortilus family and the other the Calzadilla family.

John also explained that the gift of a house keeps on giving. With 1350 Collier Habitat for Humanity houses the mortgage money keeps coming in so that there are funds to help build more houses. There is still a need for more houses and more money.

All applicants must be US citizens or legal residents with proof of three years of income taxes and a clean police record. The houses are under construction in Liberty Landing, Immokalee, Regal Acres and Naples Manor with new and rehab homes.
