Some of you may already have heard about the new “Brushes & Paint” art show coming to Marco Island this season sponsored by Marco Island Foundation for the Arts.
Well, the first official Brushes & Paint Outdoor Art Show arrives at the Historical Museum on 180 S. Heathwood Drive on Friday, November 22 from 10 AM to 4 PM. This new show is for those who love original paintings created by our local artists. Some of the artists include Carolyn Burger, Gerry Brynjulson, Inez Hudson, Pat Perotti, Karen Swanker, Joan Scherer, Barbara McCormack, Tara O’Neill and Laura Wright. The artists will exhibit their work in a more casual and personable venue than most outdoor art shows and visitors will get to see them in action, creating paintings and sharing their interests and techniques. All work displayed will be originals and will include a variety of mediums such as oils, acrylics, watercolor, pastel, pen and ink, charcoal, oil pastels and pencil.
There will even be a silent auction of artwork by the participating artists, so you might be lucky to pick up a wonderful painting at a great price. Proceeds from the silent auction will be donated to our local For the Love of Cats organization.
Food provided by Beach Dogs will also be available if you are hungry. And plan to stop into the Historical Museum to see its new gallery show and gift shop. Bring your friends and have a great time enjoying outstanding art and artists.
There are four “Brushes & Paint” Outdoor Art Shows planned for this coming season. They are scheduled at different locations on the island including the Historical Museum, the Esplanade and Mackle Park. Dates include the following:
