Submitted

The Friends of Tigertail Beach hosted its eleventh Breakfast and Birds event at Tigertail Park on October 29th. Twenty-seven birders joined Susan Kubat and Fran Huxley as they described the birds that migrate to our beaches this time of year. Happily, nine migrating bird species were spotted. They were least sandpiper, western sandpiper, dunlin, piping plover, semipalmated plover, black-bellied plover, ruddy turnstone, red knot, and willet. Twenty-one species in all were observed. The next Breakfast and Birds will be January 28th, from nine until eleven. Check out their website (www.friendsoftigertail.com) and Facebook page (Friends of Tigertail Beach) for more information.
