“The Golden Gate Civic Association held a strategy meeting at the start of the year to identify specific areas of opportunity for our community. Bringing businesses together to foster economic growth was identified as a top priority,” said Russell Tuff, president of the Golden Gate Civic Association. “We asked Maria to chair a start-up group for Golden Gate business leaders. She did an outstanding job and now has 25 people who regularly attend meetings. In addition to this group, she also established a Hispanic business group. She has really energized our community, and we are very pleased to recognize her in this special way.”
