Boogie and Blues Fundraiser

Parents and teachers of The Charter Middle School of Marco coordinated a successful and well thought fundraiser at the main ballroom of the Marco Hilton Resort. 220 guests enjoyed a three-course dinner, entertainment and silent auction. $17,600 was raised, after expenses, at the sold out event. was given away as a door prize and 7th grade teacher, Mrs. Lang won over $800 in the 50/50 raffle.

Impressive was the organizers choice of entertainment. The Charter Middle School Jazz Bank entertained the diners as did the Marco Island Strummers, Mr. Totten’s guitar students, and the Marco Dance Academy whose dancers were charter school students

and graduates. A large section of the community unfailingly supports Marco Island endeavors. Along two walls were over 90 silent auction items ranging from restaurant gift cards to a week long ski vacation in Austria. During “the season,” Marco businesses give an untold amounts of gift certificates and items assisting in the success of the many community endeavors.
