As you step into the Blue Mangrove Gallery in Town Center Mall, you enter a world of artistic craftsmanship, elegance and style. The gallery recently celebrated ten years of sharing its unique artisan jewelry, art and gifts.

Blue Mangrove Gallery owner Christie Marcoplos shared her secrets of success, “To succeed, you need to have a vision combined with determination. You have to give it your all. It is your passion that kicks in when needed.”

A large part of Christie’s vision includes her conviction to find beautiful creations with which to surround oneself. That, in turn, leads to an aura of happiness that supports both artists and handcrafters. Many handcrafters then pay it forward by giving back to charities and training others in the art of craftsmanship, creating a most precious circle of life.

Christie’s unique shop features traditional, functional and whimsical gift items such as jewelry, glass, pottery, furniture accent pieces, art and photography, note cards, books (particularly those of local interest), handbags, accessories, and children’s books and toys. There is a vast selection of artisan jewelry from Dune Jewelry’s Marco Island Beach Sand collection including

their new exclusive Grand Marco bracelet, Trollbeads, Spakle (sic) Life and other brands throughout the Gallery. Beautiful, one-of-a-kind items such as an azure blue hand-painted jellyfish vase will catch your eye and deepen your appreciation for all things extraordinary and distinctive.

The well-attended anniversary celebration featured appetizers and beverages, and the steel drum sounds of Martin Houghtaling. Artist Tara O’Neill was on hand to sign copies of her book, Seaside Therapy. This limited edition is a collection of paintings and prose that Tara created to honor her ten-year association with Blue Mangrove Gallery. Her works were painted during Artist Mondays in January through March when Tara is at her easel in front of the Gallery.

Grateful for the gallery’s milestone anniversary and success, Christie Marcoplos said, “I have a wonderful staff and great artists to work with.”
