As the mall it calls home undergoes changes, so has Beachworks. The beach apparel, gift and novelty shop has taken the Marco Town Center Mall’s $10 million redevelopment project as an opportunity to grow in size and in the variety of its offerings.
Beachworks become an even larger shop by expanding into what was an adjoining storefront. The new space, which opened recently, is dedicated to women’s shoes and purses. The merchandise found there is just one part of the new product lines Beachworks co-owner Teri Knapp and the store’s manager Belinda Horton have added to the business’ inventory.
Consolidation has also been part of the changes as Knapp and Horton have shifted Margaritaville apparel to the store from a nearby storefront that had been leased by Knapp and her business partner and husband, Bob Knapp.
“We wanted to bring Margaritaville over, but we just didn’t have the room so that’s why we decided to expand into this spot, and we cut—a connection—through so that it’s all basically one store,” said Teri Knapp. “We’ve added some new lines, so we picked up Gigi Moda and Wearables, and we have a nice selection of men’s clothing and we’re going to put that together with the Margaritaville.”
Beachworks is also now carrying some of the shoe product lines carried at the mall’s now-closed Georgie’s and the Shoe Resort store.
Teri Knapp described the store as being a purveyor of resort wear for men and women, t-shirts for the family, men’s shoes by Sperry and Margaritaville flip-flops, women’s shoes by Mephisto, Naot, Onex and La Plume and handbags by London-based Katie Loxton.
Beachworks’ clientele has been pleased with the additional product options that the expansion has brought, said Teri Knapp and Horton.
“The benefit for our customer is they can come to one store and do all their shopping for their family and friends in one stop,” explained Horton.
Beachworks is located at 1069 N Collier Boulevard, Suite 209, in the Marco Town Center Mall. For more information, visit beachworksonline.com or call 239-642-7777.
