Whether it be the highly respected statewide newspaper organization, Florida Press Association (FPA), or the national organization, the Association of Free Community Papers, Coastal Breeze News is a solid favorite among readers and publishing peers. It is evidenced time and time again by the awards it receives competing against other weekly newspapers. The latest winnings include four awards from the Florida Press Association’s Better Weekly Awards Competition.
“Coastal Breeze News writers and staff are dedicated and care for the community they serve,” said publisher Valerie Simon. “It shows in their writing and comes through on the pages of the paper. We are so proud of the work they do!”
Coastal Breeze News took home two 1st place awards; one for Local Government writing for entitled City Budget Watch, and another for Community History with Craig Woodward’s piece on Henry Lowe.
Coastal Breeze News also won 3rd place for a photo series on the Kiwanis 5K, and 3rd place for General Overall Excellence. This is the fourth overall excellence award in the last four years! “We are so pleased Coastal Breeze can compete and win against the largest weekly newspapers in the state, Division A, for publications over 15,000 circulation and do so well.”
