Robert’s Florida Songwriter Showcase celebrates award winning Florida composers. People visit the Margood Harbor Theater once a month to hear special music presentations featuring songwriters who have composed and recorded original Florida music. Every “Last Friday of the Month” evening from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, songwriters will take the stage to share tales and original music ranging in style from Americana and old timey music to heritage blues and southern rock, as well as trop rock and Caribbean jazz.
Robert introduces each show with original Florida songs. Then, he introduces the evening’s special guest singers. During the shows, musicians share personal stories about Florida heritage and inspiration for their songwriting and musical talents.
On May 31, J. Robert will feature “God’s Locomotive” writer Austin Church and Nashville hit writer Tim McGeary. Marie Nofsinger will help host this “Last Friday in May” with her own brand of Florida Outlaw Songs.
“It all starts with a song!”
