Happy, happy New Year 2019! The Local Color Art Gallery rang in the New Year in style at their first Friday open house this month. Malenda Trick and Clark Shaw outdid themselves preparing a gourmet buffet fit for any discerning pallet. Resident artists Bonnie Hauke, Judy Chinski, Lindy Kowalczyk, Betty Newman and Karen Swanker added the final touches to the feast with their own specialty dishes.
The artists are facing the possibility of losing their gallery spaces as future plans continue for renovations to the Shops of Olde Marco. However, the gallery is open everyday from 10 AM to 3 PM and will continue to be open and have their open house every first Friday of the month year ‘round.
If you are redecorating or still fixing up from Hurricane Irma, you will find a wide variety of unique and wonderful art including oil paintings, abstracts, watercolors, found object assemblages, shell craft, and photography. Need a gift for a jewelry lover? Handcrafted bracelets, pendants and necklaces abound both in the downstairs shop and upstairs gallery.
The Local Color Art Gallery is located in the Shops of Olde Marco at 190 Royal Palm Drive, #258.
