There was a wearin’ of the green recently at the Local Color Art Gallery as artists celebrated St. Patrick’s Day a wee bit early. The theme for their First Friday Artwalk was “Art for the Irish.” But as you know – everyone is Irish on St. Patty’s Day.
Shamrock glasses, green boas, beads and top hats were the dress code of the evening.

Over eighty art lovers were in attendance. First time guests were delightfully impressed with the variety of artwork in the gallery, created by the ten in-house artists. Paintings in oils, photographs, jewelry, watercolors, fabric art, encaustic, abstracts and found object assemblages fill three rooms

At the next First Friday Artwalk, on April 1st from 5-7 PM, the Local Color Art Gallery will celebrate being in business one year. And…isn’t that April Fools Day? It could be an interesting evening. The Local Color Art Gallery is located above the Shops of Old Marco, 258 Royal Palm Drive, Marco Island.
