The Marco Island Library on Heathwood Ave. is highlighting the colorful artwork of Linda Chambers. Be sure to visit the library this month to view Linda’s colorful pastel artwork including the flora and fauna found here in Southwest Florida. Nature and the beauty of God’s handiwork have always fascinated Linda. As a youngster, the mountain streams and woodlands of Pennsylvania were her playground.
Linda is an educator as well as an artist. After earning a B.A. and Masters in Art Education from Indiana University of Pa., she taught art in the public school system. Always an eclectic artist who dabbled in everything from stained glass windows to decorative painting, she zeroed in on pastels after taking the late Irving Boker’s pastel class. In the past 10 years she has been juried into many shows including the International Association of Pastel Societies Exhibit, and has become an award winning artist. Linda is an Associate Member of the Pastel Society of America, and also as a member of SWFL Pastel Society, the United Arts Council, Naples Art Association, and the Art Centers of Marco Island and Bonita Springs. Linda currently teaches adult classes at the Von Liebig in Naples and the Marco Island Center for the Arts.
These monthly displays of artwork at the library are provided by members of the Marco Island Center for the Arts.
