Annual Fill-a-Backpack Drive

While the calendar may say June, at The Shelter for Abused Women & Children, it is time to start thinking about the upcoming school year. The annual “Give Back – Fill a Pack” back-to-school-donation drive begins today to ensure that its youngest survivors have the supplies they need throughout the school year.

The Shelter assists more than 800 child victims and survivors of domestic violence annually through safety, intervention and support. In addition, the organization reaches out to more than 17,000 school-age children through their presentation and education programs.

Three ways to give: Adopt a Student, Grant a Wish, Donate a Dollar.

The Shelter, Collier County’s only certified domestic violence center, is leading the community to prevent, protect and prevail over domestic violence through advocacy, empowerment and social change. Since 1989, the nonprofit organization has served more than 66,000 children, women, men and their pets.
