Thirty-three years ago two important events occurred on Marco Island: the founding of the Jewish Congregation of Marco Island, and the organizing of the Philharmonic.
Originally here on Marco Island, the Philharmonic later moved to Naples, and is now known as the Artis-Naples Philharmonic.
For the 10th year, the Philharmonic’s Brass Quintet will perform at the Jewish Congregation of Marco Island (JCMI). The February 13th performance is part of the JCMI Cultural Series, now in its 22nd continuous year.
The music is classical and modern, from Bach to Ellington and Fats Waller.
The musicians are the number one players at the Philharmonic. They are Matthew Sonneborn, trumpet; David Dash, trumpet; Tracy Leonard, horn; Michael Zion, trombone; Aaron McCalla, tuba; and Brian Jordan, percussion.
Enjoy a musical evening with the Philharmonic’s Brass Quintet on Saturday, February 13 at 7:30 PM at the Jewish Congregation of Marco Island (JCMI), located at 991 Winterberry Drive. Following the program, attendees are invited to a Viennese table and Starbucks tasting. The event is open to the community. Tickets are $20 for members and $25 for non-members. For more information and tickets, please call the JCMI office at 239-642-0800.
