On Sunday, September 13, 2015, the Marco Island Police Department will host a fundraising event to benefit Amy Ashby at the Marco Island Brewery.
For a minimum $10 donation, from 1-7 PM, guests can enjoy a complimentary buffet, drink discounts and a corn hole tournament.
There will also be a silent auction and raffle of a pink Glock Model 42. Raffle tickets will be $10 each, or three for $20. A limited number of fresh Florida Keys lobster tails will be available for a donation. The event will be family friendly, and the new police jeep will be there for the kids to enjoy.
One-hundred percent of the proceeds raised will go to the Ashby family.
Amy Ashby, 40, a MarcoIsland resident, was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer called triple positive. Her intensive treatment, which will include both chemotherapy and surgery, is extremely costly.
Amy is the wife of Marco Island Police Officer Paul Ashby. The couple has three teenage children. Paul’s fellow officers at the Marco Island Police Department organized the fundraising event at the Brewery to help the family.
In addition, a GoFundMe page has been set up to assist the Ashby family with Amy’s medical expenses: www.gofundme.com/ashby-sj.
If you can’t attend the September 13th fundraiser (and even if you can), I urge you to visit Amy’s GoFundMe page, where she bravely shares her story, with frequent updates on her treatment and progress.
The Marco Island Brewery is located at the Town Center Mall, 1089 N. Collier Blvd., Marco Island.
