If you have a sweet tooth, make sure to mark your calendars for Saturday evening, March 4, 2017, at 7:30 PM, for the second event of the Saul I. Stern Cultural Series. This fascinating event will appeal to all chocolate lovers. The presenter for the evening program is Rabbi Deborah Prinz, an expert on chocolate, who travels the world discussing the history of our favorite food.
Retired Rabbi Prinz will tell the fascinating story of how chocolate came to the Old World and the New World, and chocolate’s surprising religious importance. Following the presentation, a tasting of chocolate treats made from recipes featured in the speaker’s best-selling book will be offered. Copies of the book will be available for sale and signing by the author.
The series, in its 23rd season, takes place at the Marco Island Jewish Congregation located at 991 Winterberry Drive, Marco Island.
