AGREEMENT REACHED COLLIER COUNTY VENDORS TO BE PAID

Collier County Circuit Court Judge James Shenko has approved an interim agreement between Clerk of Courts Dwight Brock and Collier County Manager Leo Ochs that will result in the payment of all outstanding invoices, by Mr. Brock, for purchases and contracts entered into by the county manager. The estimated value of unpaid invoices is $5.6 million, representing over 3,000 invoices.

A copy of the agreement is attached.

Last month, the Board of County Commissioners agreed to seek an emergency injunction ordering Mr. Brock to make the payments until the lawsuit could be resolved. Today’s agreement means the hearing scheduled for this afternoon will not take place.

“We are extremely pleased that Judge Shenko approved this interim agreement,” said County Manager Leo Ochs. “Many of our vendors are small business people who rely on the county’s business and timely payment to survive. They should not have to suffer until this lawsuit is resolved.”

A special meeting of the Board of Collier County Commissioners will be scheduled at a date and time yet to be determined.
