Recently, the Marco Island office of the American Cancer Society held an appreciation dinner for its Volunteer Leadership Board. Board members were treated to a wonderful dinner, and given the latest American Cancer Society cookbook, “Healthy Eating.” A collage placemat provided a creative momento of the year’s events and accomplishments.
Board member and volunteer, Dr. Loan Lam, was honored for her many contributions to the Volunteer Leadership Board over the years. The board and staff also wishedDr. Lam good luck, as she will be moving to Tampa. Dr. Lam has shown how dedicated she is to the American Cancer Society, by establishing herself as a Tampa ACS volunteer, even before her move to the area.
During the evening, Maureen Chodaba was surprised with the ACS Volunteer of the Year Award for her dedicated service. Maureen, who is a cancer survivor, has been a strong advocate and volunteer for ACS, through Relay For Life and other events.Additionally, Maureen, a writer for Coastal Breeze News, helps by using her writing talents to prepare press releases and articles that help keep the community informed and educated.
