Marco Island Marriott announces Scott Lien as new Head Golf Professional
Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort, Golf Club & Spa is pleased to announce Scott Lien as the Head Golf Professional at the resort’s award-winning Rookery at Marco Golf Club. Lien will be responsible for the supervision and direction of the day-to-day golf operations of The Rookery’s par-72 resort private course.
With over six years of industry experience, Lien has earned great recognition for his accomplishments in successful golf management. Most recently Lien served as Head Golf Professional at the Marriott Stone Mountain Golf Club in Stone Mountain, Georgia. In his two short years at Stone Mountain Golf Club, Lien earned several accolades including the 2012 Georgia Section Merchandiser of the Year and the 2011 Leader of the Quarter award as the Head Golf Professional.
Prior to joining the Stone Mountain Golf Club in July 2010, Lien was the Head Golf Professional at one of the Caribbean’s most notable courses, the Marriott Royal St. Kitts Golf Club in St. Kitts, West Indies. While at the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club, the property, under his direction, won the 2009 Marriott Golf Sales Excellence Award. It was at this property where Lien actually began his Marriott career as an intern six years ago.

A native to Hoyt Lakes, Minnesota, Lien is a graduate of Ferris State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and an emphasis on professional golf management. Lien, is scheduled to begin his management of the Marco Island Marriott Rookery Golf Course in mid-December 2012.
