Marco Island Meals of Hope will hold a “Happy Hour for Hope” on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Gino’s Trattoria from 5 PM to 7 PM. Gino’s Trattoria is located at 969 N. Collier Blvd., Marco Island, FL 34145.

Bill “Captain Hope” Morris said, “Gino’s always has great food and their staff is more than friendly. This will be a great event.” Gino’s will make available drinks at happy hour prices and a delicious spread of hors d’oeuvres. Rosetta Stone will provide entertainment as she has done for many years.

Happy Hours for Hope are fundraisers for Marco Island’s Meals of Hope. The $10 admission fee helps the organization buy food for its packaging event in November. Happy Hours for Hope raise about $15,000 each year. The packaging event in November has a budget of $50,000. Morris explained, “These events are a big part of our funding, but we also need support from donors. This year twelve individuals and businesses donated a minimum of $500 to become Friends of Hope. We still need over $10,000 in donations.”

Marco Meals of Hope is a joint effort of Kiwanis, Noontime Rotary and Sunrise Rotary clubs. It is a hands-on approach to combating hunger in our community. Volunteers work year round raising funds for its packaging event at the Marco Island Charter Middle School. Last year, volunteers packed over 250,000 meals for distribution through the Meals of Hope distribution network. Organizers hope to do equal that number at the packaging event on November 18, 2017.

Admission to Happy Hour for Hope is only $10 and everyone is invited.
