The Marco Players Theater opens the holiday season with “A Christmas Cactus,” a romantic comedy infused with mystery. This charming contemporary Christmas tale provides a good dose of “feel good” when goodwill and justice triumph.
Christmas is about to get interesting for Cactus O’Riley, a sassy private eye with the holiday blues. With a lot going on, she is trying to lure her secretary Fred away from his protective mother, dodge the affections of Deputy Windsor, and is considering closing her business.
“It’s Christmas Eve and unexpected guests have arrived at Cactus O’Riley’s detective agency, not bearing gifts but guns. Join us for a little mystery, a little romance and lots of fun,” says director Annie Rosemond. Christmas turns into a “dickens” of a holiday for Cactus as she solves mysteries, delivers small miracles and takes a second chance on love and sleuthing.
“A Christmas Cactus” by Eliot Byerrum is on stage November 30 – December 18 at The Marco Players Theater, Marco Town Center Mall, 1089 N. Collier Blvd., Marco Island.
