Many thought it wasn’t going to happen this year, but we couldn’t let shutterbugs miss a chance to enter the Ninth Annual City of Marco Island Amateur Wildlife Photography Contest. The competition is sponsored by the City of Marco Island and Coastal Breeze News. The contest begins now and runs through May 6th. Winners will be announced May 13th.
The contest is open to amateur photographers, 14 years old and up. Winners will be displayed at the Marco Island Historical Society, while all entries will be available for viewing in a catalog at the same time. Categories include Land Animals, Marine Animals, Birds, Insects, Trees/Landscape, Black and White and Creative. For more details, check the next edition of Coastal Breeze News, or call 239-393-4991.
There are few changes this year, such as entries are to be sized at 11 X 14”. Although the size is larger than in the past, matting is no longer required. Be sure you have current 2016 forms and specifications before entering.
So, on your mark, get focused and SHOOT!
